Milton communities are spread out by design long trail loops, deep common areas, and stations that sit a good walk apart. CoPS on Doody services all of them on the same defined day, for one flat monthly rate.

Milton was incorporated to stay green large lots, preserved rural character, and more trail and greenway frontage per community than almost anywhere else in North Fulton. Residents walk dogs on long loops through wooded common areas, not around a single courtyard.
That geography breaks the shortcut most vendors take. A crew servicing a compact townhome community can hit every station from one parking spot. In Milton, a real visit means covering ground: the far end of the trail, the amenity area, the stretch nobody drives past. It is the easiest place in the metro for a vendor to service the two stations by the pool, mark the visit complete, and leave the back half of the community untouched for another month.
Boards usually find out from a resident, not from the vendor.

One well-placed station usually performs better than two poorly placed ones. On Milton's larger sites that principle does real financial work: a station 200 feet off the walking line is a capital expense that collects pollen, while the same unit at the trailhead absorbs most of a community's waste on its own.
When we assess a Milton community, we walk the actual routes residents take trailheads, mailbox clusters, amenity approaches, and the transitions between mown common area and treeline and evaluate everything within roughly 25 feet of each existing station to see whether it is earning its place. Communities frequently end up moving stations rather than buying more.

No, but it changes the scope, and the scope should be written down. We map trail loops, amenity areas, and treelines at the assessment so the proposal covers the whole site rather than the convenient part of it.
No. CoPS on Doody serves communities HOAs, condo and townhome associations, and apartment communities not individual yards or acreage.
Fewer than most boards expect, if they're placed well. One well-placed station usually outperforms two poorly placed ones. The assessment produces a count and a placement map your board can approve.
